The Laag Update
The Laag Update
Hey guys! We’re officially changing the Laag: Commute Series to The Laag Update.
Why? While the Commute Series has always been a big part of what we do, the name felt like it limited us to just commuting and DIY travel. Sometimes we want to take the local route, and sometimes we want the convenience of a hassle-free package tour.
With The Laag Update, we can cover all types of travel and tourism experiences.
That doesn’t mean we’re leaving the Commute Series behind. We still believe that commuting, backpacking, and DIY travel are some of the best ways to travel.
These forms of travel help spread the benefits of tourism beyond large businesses and directly into local communities—supporting local transportation services like jeepneys, habal-habal, and motorcycles, as well as local businesses such as eateries, carinderias, sari-sari stores, and other vendors along the way.
The goal remains the same: to document hospitality and tourism experiences
The Laag Update is a local travel series that documents hospitality and tourism experiences—from transport culture and unique accommodations to trending destinations, must-visit attractions, historical landmarks, and food experiences along the way.
What makes us different?
We show viewers exactly how to get there using public transport and local commuting options, making travel feel accessible and realistic for everyone.
We are now also trying to feature affordable travel package tours, helping travelers discover easy, budget-friendly ways to explore destinations in the most convenient way.
Our content helps Gen Z travelers and backpackers discover destinations while creating real engagement and visibility for the businesses and travel services we feature.
(Resorts, Glamping & Camping Sites, Hotels, Tour Operators, and More)
“Our Laag Update shows viewers how to reach your place, explore it, and experience what makes it special.
(Including Food & Beverages)
“We feature your products—food or drinks—along the journey, helping create authentic engagement and interest in your business.”
We personally cover all costs related to the experiences, services, or products featured in our videos.
This allows us to create honest, unbiased, and experience-based content.
To continue producing high-quality content, we sometimes accept optional support from businesses that value our work—usually after the content has been posted and proven its value.
This support never affects our honesty or authenticity—it simply helps us sustain the series and keep creating meaningful content.
